    Dear FLURISA member,

The FLURISA board is announcing that we will hold our 2021 annual meeting on April 30th at 6 PM via GoToWebinar (Please click here for registration). While the yearly meeting serves as an opportunity to update all members of FLURISA’s current status and direction this year it is especially important. Many of you are aware of the OneURISA initiative from conversations over the past year (Details can be found here).

OneURISA is an effort from the URISA to restructure the relationship between the national organization (URISA) and each of the local chapters. This process requires several important changes and considerations to FLURISA’s By-Laws which must be approved by the general membership at our annual meeting. The executive board of FLURISA has met and discussed these changes over the past several months with URISA. These draft by-laws and changes are posted to the FLURISA website and can be accessed via the following link for review.

One of the items of business during the annual meeting will be a membership-wide vote to accept these draft By-Laws which meet the requirement of the OneURISA initiative.

    Thank you,
    Keith Smith
    FLURISA President

Calling all FLURISA GIS members! In an effort to assist those that may have recently suffered from loss of employment, we are calling on those of us that may be aware of open opportunities to help get fellow GIS community members back on their feet. At this time, it is clearly a challenge to be an employer or an interviewee. Using our FLURISA community, we hope to share open positions for a limited time to offset that challenges and get members back in the game as productive members in the Florida GIS sector. Please send any open positions to jobs@flurisa.org and please refer those in need to the www.flurisa.org/jobs website.

Please note, we have sunset this effort. We are leaving this page up in case it can be useful for anyone, but we are not actively updating it anymore.

    Be safe and be well.
