Title: 2020 Local Update of Census Address Operation
Date: Wed, May 24, 2017 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM EDT
The 2020 Census is fast approaching, and the first Geographic Partnership Program that the Census Bureau offers to local governments is the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation. LUCA is an opportunity for county and municipal governments to compare their address lists with the Census Bureau’s Master Address File (MAF) to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Census address list that will be used in 2020 Census mail operations. In this presentation, William Curry II, a Geographer for U.S. Census Bureau out of the Atlanta Regional Office, will introduce and explain the program, define participation methods, which include paper, digital, and GUPS. In addition, give a brief overview of the LUCA program operation.
